July 14 –  Bastille Day

July 18 – Super 1 Foods

Join us on Wednesday, July 18 at 1PM for the grand opening of the new Super 1 Food store on Rees Street in Breaux Bridge.

July 20 – Rustic Relic

Join us for a ribbon cutting celebration at Rustic Relic, 122 E. Bridge on July 20 at 9 am.  Light Breakfast will be severed.

July 21  –  Petit Tour du Teche

A series of races for ages 5 – 17 in the heart of Breaux Bridge.

The series of youth races will be held on the Bayou Teche at Parc des Ponts de Pont Breaux. The event is on the 2nd to last Saturday in July each year. See the exact date on the scrolling list of races.
Registration costs $10 and includes lunch for the youth participants. Boats and paddles are provided, if needed. You must bring your own PFD.
The registration fee allows each paddler to compete in all races in the appropriate age division.
The races are from 250 yards to a mile in length, the races are staged around buoys so that the racers are within view of the park at all times.

There are entrances to the park on Bridge Street next to St. Bernard School and on Main Street next to Breaux Bridge Junior High.

On-site registration begins at 7 a.m., safety check at 8 a.m., and the first race at 9 a.m.

Age Divisions
Fledgling I
Limited to all those 5-7 years old as of race day. Race course is 250 yards.

Fledgling II
Limited to all those 8-10 years old as of race day. Race course is 250 yards.

Bantam
Limited to all those 11 & 12 years old as of race day. Race course is 500 yards.

Juvenile
Limited to all those 13 & 14 years old as of race day. Race course is approximately one mile.

Junior
Limited to all those 15-17 years old as of race day. Race course is approximately one mile.

Classes
K1 Race
Open or closed deck, rudder, length unlimited, double blade paddles. Limited to one paddler.
one person canoes can be used as well as single blade paddles.

K1 Recreational
Any recreational kayak without a rudder, double blade paddles. Limited to one paddler.
a non movable sceg (sternward extension of the keel) is allowed, one person canoes can be used as well as single blade paddles.

K2 Recreational
Any recreational kayak without a rudder, double blade paddles. Limited to two paddlers.
a non movable sceg (sternward extension of the keel) is allowed, one person canoes can be used as well as single blade paddles.

SUP Recreational
Any recreational stand up paddle board. Limited to one paddler.

September 8 – Breaux Bridge Lions Club 5th Annual Rice & Gravy Cook-Off.  For information please email bblionsclub@hotmail.com

September 29 – Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Jambalaya Cook-Off

The Jambalaya Cook-Off will be in held in Parc des Pont Breaux in the downtown area along the Bayou Teche.  Registration begins @ 7:00am and the cooking begins at 8:00am.  The DJ will provide music beginning at 8:00 am.  Hugh And the Wrecking Crew plays from 10:30 m to 12:30 m  Judging time begins at 12 noon.  Jambalaya samples will be available beginning at 12 noon.

$10 Admission – allows your to sample all the teams jambalaya.  Children 12 and under free.

$30 Cooking team Entry Fee

$50 Arts & Crafts / Vendor / Farmers Market

 

October Events

October 5 & 6 – Breaux Bridge Citywide Garage Sale

Friday & Saturday, 100’s of garage sales throughout the City and all streets leading into Breaux Bridge.  SATURDAY ONLY –Huge outdoor flea market along the Bayou @ Parc des Ponts de Pont Breaux near St. Bernard School.

October 6  – St. Francis of Assissi Fall Celebration

BBQ plate lunches . Games . Raffle . Zydeco Music.   St. Francis of Assisi is located at 610 North Main.

October 5-7 – Tour du Teche Canoe Race

130 mile canoe/kayak race that travels thru four parishes.  Visit www.tourduteche.com for more information.

 

November 3- The Crazy Wheels of Breaux Bridge Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show
