PROCEEDINGS OF THE MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF BEAUX BRIDGE HELD AT THE CITY HALL, 101 BERARD STREET, AT 6:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2018.

 

Mayor Ricky Calais called the meeting to order, the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance were recited.

 

Present:  Brenda Castille Hobbs, Howard Alexander, Ernest Ledet, Glenn Michael Angelle and Gary Champagne

 

Absent: None

 

Upon motion of Gary Champagne, duly seconded by Howard Alexander, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved the following addition to the January meeting agenda:

Item #10 – Appoint Mayor Pro-Tempore

 

Upon motion of Howard Alexander, duly seconded by Gary Champagne, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved the following addition to the January meeting agenda:

Item #11 – Discussion of Burn Ordinance

 

A presentation was given by Burton Dupuis for the St. Martin Hospital Mileage Bond election to be held in March 2018.

 

Upon motion of Gary Champagne, duly seconded by Howard Alexander, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved the following addition to the January meeting agenda:

Item #12 – Resolution in support of St. Martin Hospital Mileage Bond Election

 

Upon motion of Glenn Michael Angelle, duly seconded by Ernest Ledet, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved the Resolution in support of St. Martin Hospital Mileage Bond Election.

 

Upon motion of Gary Champagne, duly seconded by Howard Alexander, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved the minutes of the December 12, 2017 City Council meeting.

 

Upon motion of Glenn Michael Angelle, duly seconded by Howard Alexander, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved to award the LCDBG FY 2017 Sewer System Improvements to Construction Pro, Inc.

 

Upon motion of Gary Champagne, duly seconded by Brenda Castille Hobbs, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved the recommendation of Chief Rollie Cantu to promote the following officers to Sergeant:

Ava Mouton

Dustin Landreneau

Taylor Boutin

Joshua Martin

 

Upon motion of Gary Champagne, duly seconded by Howard Alexander, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved to award the contract for garbage collection services for the City of Breaux Bridge to Pelican Waste and Debris, LLC.

 

Upon motion of Gary Champagne, duly seconded by Glenn Michael Angelle, and unanimously carried, the Board of Aldermen approved the appointment of Brenda Castille Hobbs as Mayor Pro-Tempore for the first six months of the year of 2018, and the appointment of Ernest Ledet, as Mayor Pro-Tempore, for the 2nd half of the year 2018.

 

 

 

Upon motion of Glenn Michael Angelle, duly seconded by Howard Alexander, and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned.
